Peru was the centre of the Inca Empire โ the largest empire in pre-Columbian America โ and the legacy of that civilisation is visible everywhere, from the astronomical precision of Machu Picchu to the agricultural terraces still in use in the Sacred Valley after 600 years. But Peru is far more than Machu Picchu: it is also the Amazon basin, Lake Titicaca at 3,800 metres, and a food culture that rivals any in the world.
Our tours spend significant time in Cusco and the Sacred Valley before the Machu Picchu visit โ giving you the context and altitude acclimatisation to fully appreciate what you are seeing. Maximum 16 guests means we can take the Inca Trail if you want it, or the train if you prefer.
